Our day finally came, we got to meet each other. Pam and I! We became friends a few short months ago - we have been commented on each others blogs for a while now. I got stuck on her blog when I realized she too had a little China Doll name Emma.
Pam, sent me a message on Emma blog and left me her email address. I emailed her and she and her family were coming to Ft Myers, and wanted to know if we could meet! No, way I thought? Really? That's awesome, I was so excited. We talked before they came over this way. She has 2 boys that are 9 and 11 - awesome again I thought for Sam.
So Sam, Emma and I drove down for a visit. Some people ask, which Pam and I talked about it - you going to meet a complete stranger, well yeah! And we both agreed, just how strange could it be? We both have something in common, something that many people have and that's adoption. How bad can it be? Can't be all that bad, being we know one thing for sure, we have to be pretty clean with no records, or else we wouldn't be able to adopt, just how bad is it? We as adoptive parents completely understand each other, and I know what it feels like to do the things we do to adopt. We wait, we're screened, we're finger printed, we pay fees over and over again. We do know what it's like. I feel Pam, knows more about me then my own family. I wouldn't just go and meet any one person, a person with no connection, and nothing in common. It's just all good!
And man did WE ALL get along WONDERFULLY! Pam, has a great family - a great kind loving husband, 2 incredible boys and a Asian princess! And we fit prefect as friends. Todd, had to work - so he missed out on so much, but joined us for dinner.
Sam and her boys Noah and Adam hit it right off. They played the whole time in the pool and talked about boy stuff i'm sure.
this little girl is amazing, she's like a FISH in water. She does things I never seen a 21 month old do, she's simply nuts about the water. Emma could very well be part of the 2012 Swim team for America in the Olympics. I didn't have a water proof camera, so hoping Pam sends me some photos of her little fish.
Emma is not wanting Sam to bother her.
sweet photo of the boys playing with their sisters. Pam's boys are just like Sam - always loving on their sister. What lucky little girls to have brothers like them.
After the pool, we went to their room. Sam, just loved their big room. Sam, loves any type of room in a hotel or a resort, he will be a world traveler i'm sure. The girls were pretty much fighting over who will get his book. Emma has it....
now Emma has it....I just said that!
So Emma S gave Emma a different book...Emma is saying, yeah this one look good!
now it's time to suck out a snack. Emma loved her new friends, they had snacks every time she turned around.
this is really good Mommy, can you buy me some? Yes, Emma I will
now, lets see how well Emma shares her Daddy! She did, no crying - but making sure Emma knows it's her Daddy and not hers.
Now, it's time for dinner. Todd met us at Perkins. And the girls sat next to each other, they really did good together.
it looks like our Emma is patting her head, saying it's ok, don't worry.
lQQk at these 3 boys...Sam, Adam and Noah - they look like they have been friends forever! What handsome boys they are.
time to once again try and get photos of the girls together. Its so hard trying to get them both to look at the same time.
it was time to say our goodbyes! We had such a good time with our new friends. And of course Sam has to make this big goofy look on his face. He's just being 12 - yup that it's a 12 yr old thing. He so has his Mom in him..and I love it! Until we meet again! We will surely have them over for Emma's first American Birthday next Feb.
